SUMMARY
Assists in the setup and operation of a production line by following directions of Lead Operator and by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates the assigned production line and associated production equipment to ensure customer requirements are met.
Monitors card and cross lapper, bale feeders, vibrafeeds, conveyors, oven and guillotine. Performs blend checks, makes minor process adjustments. Assists in performing preventive maintenance on equipment.
Performs visual inspection of fiber and finished rolls. Assists in start up operations.
Offloads and weighs finished rolls. Wraps and packages product. Disposes of product waste.
Assists in training.
Conforms to the appropriate documentation, work instructions, work orders, etc. for loading of raw materials, labeling, packaging, inspection, and removal of process waste.
Maintains equipment by performing and documenting selected maintenance of production line and associated equipment.
Complies with all safety rules and requirements and refers any unresolved safety issues to the Shift Manager.
Assures good housekeeping and workplace organization are maintained.
Ensures proper control, accounting, reporting, and preservation of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and practices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate verbally or in writing.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic math functions. Ability to read and interpret charts used for process control.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Operate various production software programs to perform equipment setup and make data entries.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
